The American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN) and Main Street
Alliance (MSA) represented by Democracy Forward have filed
an Amicus Brief in support of the defendants-Appellees in the
United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in the case
of ALLSTATES REFRACTORY CONTRACTORS, LLC,
Plaintiff-Appellant, v. MARTIN J. WALSH, et al.,
Defendants-Appellees. The case involves a challenge to
the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health
Administration’s authority to set safety standards. The challenge
failed in the US District Court in the Northern District of
Ohio, but is currently on appeal before the Sixth Circuit Court
of Appeals.
ASBN and MSA believe that the Occupational Safety & Health
Administration (OSHA) plays an important role for setting and
enforcing workplace safety regulations which is a crucial
for all businesses and their workers.
