American Sustainable Business Network Joins Farmers and Farm Organizations to Push for Climate Action, Racial Justice and Community Support in the Next Farm Bill

Media Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN), a movement builder organization committed to inform, connect, and mobilize the business and investor community toward a sustainable economy, partners with farmers and farm organizations from across the country to call on Congress to prioritize climate action, racial justice and community support in the 2023 Farm Bill.

Led by the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition, Farm Aid, and supported by ASBN and an alliance of organizations, the Rally for Resilience aims to encourage Congress to provide resources, assistance and incentives that allow farmers to lead the way in addressing the climate crisis.

“Farmers, ranchers and advocates have made our requests clear — policymakers must prioritize legislation that addresses the impact of climate change on the farming community,” said David Levine, president and co-founder at ASBN. “ASBN encourages Congress to work alongside farmers and ranchers to ensure the next Farm Bill implements solutions to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, adapts to a changing climate, advances racial justice, and ensures food security for generations to come.”

During the week of March 6, an alliance of farmers, farmworkers and farmer allies will convene in Washington D.C. to use their collective voice to drive policy action that supports a regenerative, just and stakeholder-driven economy. ASBN will fly in a delegation — composed of members, including King Arthur Barking and Latino Farmers and Ranchers International — to advance its Farm Bill priorities and call for regenerative and just agriculture as a solution to climate change.
