Business Support for Department of Commerce Business Diversity Principles

The Department of Commerce (DOC) is seeking public input on its draft Business Diversity Principles, which describe best practices related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) in the private sector. The principles were created pursuant to DOC’s 2022–2026 Strategic Plan goal of “promoting inclusive capitalism and equitable economic growth for all Americans,” with the specific goal of fostering “a more equitable economic landscape by encouraging businesses to learn from each other’s successes and adopt best practices and strategies that help promote economic growth in underserved communities through diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives.”

ASBN is collecting comments from business leaders who wish to lend their support for this initiative, emphasizing the business imperative for diversity and the significant role corporate diversity plays in driving equity, innovation, and economic growth in communities at large.
