Vice President of Membership Marketing (Full-Time)
The American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN) is seeking an experienced Vice President (VP) of Membership Marketing to lead the organization’s membership acquisition and retention efforts, align our communications strategy with our mission, and update our brand voice and website. The VP of Membership Marketing will report to the CEO and will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive membership marketing strategy and plan that drives membership growth and engagement. The role will integrate our marketing efforts to serve and grow our network, including members, donors and an investor community.
Principal responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive membership marketing strategy and plan that drives membership growth and engagement
- Identify and target potential new members through market research and analysis
- Create and implement marketing campaigns to attract and retain members
- Work with Member Success to deliver valuable membership experiences, and develop and implement metrics to measure the success of membership marketing efforts
- Work with Communications to ensure messaging is consistent and intentional across all channels
- Work with Events and Programming to develop and deliver high quality, cohesive stakeholder experiences
- Partner with our Investor Circle team to grow and effectively engage our investor community
- Refresh our brand voice to effectively communicate ASBN’s mission and differentiated value proposition
- Update the website to align with our communication strategy and mission
- Provide regular reports on membership, donor and investor growth, engagement, retention and website performance to senior leadership
- Continuously identify new opportunities for growth and innovation in the membership program
- Grow and engage our network, including members, donors and investor community
- Be a hands-on leader, comfortable with setting up processes in a start-up environment and leading by example

- Director, Events and Programming
- Senior Manager, Communications and Storytelling
- Communications Associate
Skills/qualifications utilized/needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in membership marketing, preferably in a non-profit or association setting
- MBA or equivalent graduate degree is a plus
- Strong understanding of membership acquisition and retention best practices
- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing membership marketing strategies
- Experience with donor acquisition and retention
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with marketing and sales funnel data analysis and reporting
- Experience in the sustainability or business field is a plus
- Experience in non-profit or association setting is a plus
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to create and manage marketing budgets
- Experience with CRM software, specifically Salesforce is required
- Experience in setting up processes in a start-up environment
- Experience in leading and mentoring staff
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and remotely
- Highly organized

Compensation:
- $95,000
