Munira Ahmed Joins ASBN as Senior Business Engagement Manager

Media Release

Washington, DC – The American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN) today announced that Munira Ahmed is joining the organization in the newly created role of senior business engagement manager effective April 1.  Munira is widely recognized for her leadership and organizing and as a community advocate for inclusion.

An inspiring and dedicated advocate for inclusivity, equity, and justice, Ms. Ahmed’s work elevating the voice of historically underrepresented communities across the United States to decision-making powers across all sectors has been widely covered and respected for some time. Her passion for progress is demonstrated in her ongoing commitment to both activism and authenticity, whether advocating on behalf of immigrants, artists, sustainability or small business. Her rise to international prominence came quickly after serving as the face of the non-partisan “We the People” campaign, which was covered extensively by news organizations worldwide.

“On the close of Womens History Month, we are very excited to announce the addition of Munira to our team,” said David Levine, co-founder and president of ASBN.  “Munira’s passion and perspective in addition to her skills will be a major asset as we continue to build an inclusive businesses movement in support of an equitable, regenerative, and just economy that benefits all.”

“I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to join such an inspiring organization, one which puts much needed focus on effecting real and dynamic change within so many of the causes I personally feel impassioned by,” said Ahmed.

“We are thrilled to have Munira lend her expertise to ASBN where now – more than ever – we have an opportunity for business leaders to be more engaged in shaping public policy and impact investing to better support an inclusive, equitable economy,” said Seungah Jeong, ASBN board co-chair.

Munira joins ASBN from Matter Unlimited where she was partnerships manager with the strategic and creative consultancy focused on social impact and storytelling. Her varied interests outside of engaging businesses to use their influence for social and economic benefit and inclusion of all include food nerdery, music snobbery, and solo travel. Munira is a proud member of the Resistance Revival Chorus, where she can be found singing alongside her chorus sisters on their debut album, THIS JOY:
